Honda Civic Versus Toyota Corolla
Date:2008-8-26Readed: times

The Honda Civic and the Toyota Corolla are two of the most popular cars driven today. Although they are similar in some aspects, such as size, each car offers something different which will appeal to a different set of drivers.

The Honda Civic comes in several different styles, including the 4 door sedan and the 2 door coupe as well as the sportier versions of each. Honda also offers a Civic Hybrid for the more environmentally conscious buyer. The 2008 Honda Civic is a sporty looking vehicle, regardless of which style you choose, with smooth lines and superior handling. Buyers will also be pleased with the 36 mpg that the Civic averages.

The Civic Si comes with a 350 watt stereo system complete with 7 speakers, and an 8 inch subwoofer. The Civic also comes with WMA/MP3 capability. This car is meant to drive hard, with its 6 speed, 197 horsepower, 2.0 liter K20 engine. It also includes 17 inch alloy wheels and a limited slip differential.

The Civic Hybrid has earned the Advanced Technology Partial Zero-Emission Vehicle rating. Other amenities include a two-tier instrument panel as well as an available navigation system. The car comes with an IMA battery pack that is good for 80,000 mile/8 yr warranty in most states. Some states have a 150,000 mile/10 year warranty.

Prices range from approximately $14,000 to $19,000 for standard packages. Optional packages are available as well.

The Toyota Corolla also comes in several different styles, and one of the most impressive features of the Corolla is that of safety, which comes standard with the vehicle. These features include such things as front and side airbags, headrests, child safety locks, trunk entrapment release, side impact door beams, front and rear energy absorbing crumple zones, and anti-theft system with engine immobolizer. These are only a few of the standard safety features on the Toyota Corolla.

Most of the Corollas come with a 1.8 liter, 4 cylinder engine, but the Corolla XRS comes with a 2.4 liter, 4 cylinder engine. The Corolla also has earned the Ultra Low Emission Vehicle II rating.
